SethSpeaks.net Weekly Twins Podcast
Last
night’s SethSpeaks.net Weekly Minnesota Twins podcast was packed. I was able to discuss the Twins six-year
minor league free agents, the guys that became free agents this week, as well
as the guys that the Twins were able to sign to minor league deals. I also
discussed the Eric Hasker
signing and the Twins attempt to win the bid for Japanese RHP Hisashi Iwakuma. We
talked about Joe Mauer
winning his third straight Gold Glove award. I also gave a quick update of the
players playing in various Winter Leagues, from the Arizona Fall League, to
Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, not to mention the new
Australian Baseball League. But the primary portion of the show was spent
thinking about the offseason needs of the Twins AL Central top competitors, the
White Sox and the Tigers. We talked Tigers with John Parent of MotorCityBengals.com. We talked
about the $60 million they have coming off the books, the signings of Brandon Inge
and Jhonny Peralta, their core players, positions
of need, trade/free agent targets and more. We also talked to JJ Stankewitz
who writes the White
Sox content for Examiner.com. We
talked about the Paul Konerko situation, the core players, the role of Chris Sale, non-tender candidates, and
trade targets. It was a fun show, so hopefully you can have the opportunity to listen
to it and provide me with any
feedback.
