WEEK 6 Picks

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Friday! I'm ready for a weekend after yet another busy week. With the Championship Series both going, college football and a Sunday of NFL Games, there is plenty to go around. For some of you, maybe you are excited about the start of the NHL and College hockey seasons. Kevin Garnett is with the Celtics, so do you care at all about the Timberwolves any more? If you don't mind, let me know what other sports and teams you have interest (or no interest) in reading opinions about. I am always looking for topics, so le me know and maybe we will talk about them here. Here are the football picks of our panel, but first a couple of quick notes.

• First, you will notice that I only have 13 games below for Week 6. Good catch. According to Yahoo's NFL page there are just 13 games this week. However, Kevin Slowey did point out that the Steelers will win by 24! They're on their bye week, so I'll give it to him!

• Speaking of Slowey, he was named AAA's Pitcher of the year for the tremendous season he put together with the Rochester Red Wings. Congratulations Kevin!

• Also, Robert Delaney was named the Class A Relief Pitcher of the Year, also very deserved!

• Matt Macri was sent to the Arizona Fall League to replace injured David Winfree. He's making the most of it. The 3B went 3-5 with a double, a homer (off Max Scherzer) and two RBI. In the game, Drew Butera went 1-4 with two RBI. Ryan Mullins started and went the first two innings without allowing a run. He gave up one hit and struck out three. Trevor Plouffe started at short, batted second and went 0-5 with four strikouts.

• Take a look at 'cmathewson's' Top 20 Twins prospects list and enjoy the great conversation it created. I really enjoy such conversation.

• By the way, I was on am 710, the ESPN affiliate in Bismarck, yesterday morning. it is always great to talk baseball with Jack Michaels.

• And finally, a big congratulations to Phillies Chris Coste who was inducted into the Concordia College (Moorhead) Hall of Fame last Saturday along with the long-time Cobber baseball coach Bucky Burgau.

LaVelle E Neal went 12-2 last week, but it wasn't enough to keep psce with Tim Kolehmainen who was 13-1 last week. How will out panel of NFL "Experts" do this week. I guess we'll find out. (The rest of the picks will be added as I receive them)
