Pregame Update

(The Word Press page for this article can be found here)

Just a real quick note. But about 4:30, I hope to be on my way to the Metrodome for tonight's tilt between the Twins and the A's. I am hoping that Nick Blackburn is up for the challenge of facing the A's Justin Duchscherer. Either way, I am certain that it will be a great time in Section 220!

I wanted to post a real quick update. I will be back later with some thoughts on the Twins game as well as the minor league notes. It will be a shorter posting though. Why? Well, Rochester and New Britain have off days. Ft. Myers game tonight was canceled due to Tropical Storm Fay (which of course could still turn into a hurricane). It is on pace to hit southwest Florida on Tuesday morning but of course, the rains and stormy weather will be there tonight already. I wanted to mention this because I know there are a lot of readers in southwest Florida. Obviously we want to wish them well through the storm as well as the Miracle players and all of the players that are down there on rehab assignments.

With David Bromberg on the mound, the Beloit Snappers will face Cedar Rapids. Elizabethton will take on Princeton. This E-Town team has not dominated the Appalachian League as it has in previous years of watching box scores and such, but I just looked and their record is 37-21. Talk of Angel Morales continues to come from all over. There is a diary over at John Sickels site called Angel Morales an Emerging Star? The Baseball Handyman also wrote a quick write up on Morales. Finally, the GCL Twins and GCL Pirates were scheduled to play at 11:00 this morning. I have not seen a box score or know if they played today.

Alright, as always, I appreciate you stopping by. I will also take questions in the comments section and answer them tonight in the blog. So, feel free to ask. Have a great night.
