Quick Monday Update
I have about four minutes to post a blog update.
Busy weekend. Busy day ahead at work! Here are a couple of notes:
·
Tonight at 9:00 is this
week’s SethSpeaks.net Weekly Minnesota Twins Podcast. Cody Christie
of NoDak Twins Blog will
be a guest co-host. Guests are being lined up, but I also want to leave plenty
of time for your questions and comments as it relates to the Twins, one of
baseball’s hottest teams. So, be sure to check it out.
·
I’ve attached a picture of the Kyle Gibson
signed t-shirt from the charity auction referenced below.
·
The Twins won two out of three against Cleveland on
the road this weekend and had a shot to win all three. This team is definitely
playing well and hopefully that will carry through today’s off day and into the
White Sox series in Chicago starting Tuesday night.
·
It appears that Glen Perkins will make a
start for the Twins during the White Sox series. Good for him. It’s been a
rough last year or more for the Minnesota lefty, but he has been pitching well
since the beginning of July. Hopefully he can keep that going. Kevin Slowey
is missing a start, but indications are that he will pitch on Sunday.
·
Friday minor league highlights: Brian Dinkelman
went 2-4 with three walks. Glen Perkins gave up two runs in 6.2 innings.

Fox struck out three of the five batters he got out. Pat Neshek

double and seventh triple. Erik Lis hit his ninth home run. Deolis
Guerra had another bad start, giving up seven runs on nine hits and a walk

Congratulations to Trevor Plouffe on his
first big league home run, a long opposite field blast on Saturday night that
gave the Twins a 4-2 lead over Cleveland.
