LOTS GOING ON…
Good morning
Twins Fans! I got back last night from and exhausting, but incredibly fun, trip
to Detroit on the Twins Train. So today, this is going to be rather brief, but
also highlight a lot of things that are going on here.
·
The first thing I want to mention is that the 2010
TwinsCentric Trade Deadline Primer is now available at www.TwinsCentric.com. While there,
you will notice that the Twins version of the book is just one of 24 books that
TwinsCentric released late last night. We worked in conjunction with some of
the top bloggers from most of the teams in baseball. The final product of this
massive collaboration is something that we are very proud of. If you want a
glimpse of what is included in the 165+ page e-book, you can get about ¼ of the
book in a FREE
sample by clicking here. Here are some of the features of the
TwinsCentric book:
o A foreword by Rob
Neyer of espn.com fame.
o Team Summaries
for each big league team, looking at what they are trying to do at the deadline,
including a Fantasy Focus to help your fantasy team.
o Over 150
easily-referenced trade targets with breakdowns
o Profiles for over
120 prospects who would impact the trade deadline or the Twins the rest of the
season.
o Essays about
what other teams in the AL Central may be focusing on.
o For a bunch more
on the TwinsCentric Trade Deadline
Primer, check out Nick
Nelson’s blog about it. Or The
Twins Geek’s new blog Cliff
Lee Fallout: What Happened? And Now What?
For
$9.95, it is a lot of great information to help you wade through the coming
weeks. It’s great for the July 31 trade deadline, but remember, that the Twins
acquired Ron Mahay and Jon Rauch in August as well. The
Trade Deadline is one of the most exciting times during a baseball season, and this
e-book should help you impress your friends with knowledge on the Twins and all
of the other teams in baseball. Order
your copy today, or if you’re still not sure, you can get the FREE
Sample by clicking here.

Tomorrow, I plan on writing a bunch about the
incredible Twins Train ‘adventure’
to Detroit this weekend. I use the word “adventure” because calling it a “baseball
trip” doesn’t do it justice. From the time the bus left in the early hours of
Friday morning, through two Twins/Tigers games, driving through Detroit, and
then Chicago on the drive home, right up until the bus brought us home last
night, there were a ton of great experiences. To have been able to follow the
Twins was a huge part of the trip, no question, and Comerica Park is very nice.
In fact, bringing together over 30 Twins fans and being able to discuss our
favorite team was an experience of a lifetime. But there was so much more, and
I hope I can even partially chronicle the trip to illustrate how much I really
enjoyed it. Twins Train is a first-year business. They have already taken bus
trips to Chicago, Cleveland, Kansas City, Milwaukee and now Detroit. They have
now added two trips in August to Cleveland and Chicago, and a little birdy
tells me that they are working on a trip to Detroit in September too. How much
fun would it be to go back to Detroit in the season’s final weeks, especially if
the Twins could take the series? And, if you’re a big Vikings fan, the Twins
Train is set to go to Green Bay on Sunday, October 24, for a Vikings/Packers
game. If you’re interested, be sure to contact Scott at Twins Train now. If you’re
not sure, go to www.TwinsTrain.com,
and just check out the site, the itineraries, the Frequently Asked Questions
and more.

When I got home last night, I was about 48 minutes
late for a scheduled SethSpeaks.net
Weekly Minnesota Twins podcast. I decided that, rather than get an
e-mail from BlogTalkRadio about skipping a scheduled event, I would do a quick
10 minute podcast. I talked about some things as it relates to the Twins
Train trip, and about the TwinsCentric Trade Deadline Primer. It’s
definitely not my most professional of shows, but if you are interested in
hearing a very shortened version of the show, that’s cool.
·
Tonight, I will be hosting this
week’s SethSpeaks.net Weekly Minnesota Twins Podcast. One guest will be
Cody Christie. He writes the blog North Dakota Twins Fan. He
was on the Twins Train with several of his friends. They were there are part of
his bachelor party, so we’ll get his thoughts on the trip and on what’s going
on with the Twins. I will have a couple of other guests as well, so hopefully
you can join the discussion.
·
After my quick podcast, I was then a guest on Fanatic
Jack’s All Star Break podcast and we discussed many Twins related
topics in the show’s second half.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel
free to leave them here. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll be back to our
regular schedule.
