Beloit Starter Promoted to Ft. Myers
| Age | W-L | ERA | IP | H | BB | K | WHIP | |
| Pitcher A | 22 | 7-1 | 1.49 | 72.1 | 44 | 8 | 74 | 0.72 |
| Pitcher B | 24 | 3-7 | 4.37 | 70.0 | 77 | 22 | 39 | 1.41 |
Guess which pitcher was promoted? Well, I probably would write something completely different if Pitcher A had been promoted, instead Pitcher B was promoted. As you can guess, Pitcher A is Jeff Manship. Pitcher B is Adam Hawes. The only reason I can think of for this decision is the age category. Last week, Ft. Myers promoted Josh Hill to New Britain. He wasn't the best candidate, but the organization likely said that it is time to promote him and see what he can do. If he can't handle it, we will release him. The Twins could be at the same stage with Adam Hawes. At 24, he should no longer be in the Midwest League. Test him in the Florida State League and see if he responds. If not, he likely would be let go. Manship can always be promoted. Still kind of an interesting decision. Any thoughts?
