Slowey Update
Just a quick update. Kevin Slowey made a rehab start for the Ft. Myers Miracle. The plan was for 50 pitches or three innings, whichever came first. Slowey made it through three innings and did well.
In the first inning, he struck out the first batter, walked the second and then struck out the next two.
In the second innings, Jeramy Laster homered, but then Slowey got a ground ball to short, another strikeout and a ground ball to 3B.
In the third inning, there was a lazy fly ball to left field, a fifth strikeout and a weak ground ball to second base.
Three innings. One run on one hit, the homer. He walked one and struck out five.
Obviously the results don't really matter, but it was good to see him pitch well and get through the innings. He will now go to Rochester for a couple of appearances. Deolis Guerra, who was scheduled to start, came in to start the fourth inning.
