Quick Links
Hey ya'll, I am going to be flying out of town this afternoon for a few days, so I will write as I have time and energy. I thought I would again just post a few quick comments and links for you today.
First of all, I have to plug a new site, a site you probably wouldn't expect to see my reading. Well, it's another new site, but it isn't even a baseball site. It is a NASCAR site called The Girl Loves Racing. Now, I know I know nothing about racing, but I also understand that it is a very popular "sport", so if you enjoy it or know anyone who does, please take a look at it and feel free to pass on the link.
According to LaVelle (who talked to a Twins official) Francisco Liriano has hit 97 mph on the radar gun already. On the surface, that is great news. To think that he will be throwing as hard post-Tommy John surgery is great. But thinking that through a little deeper, I can't help but wonder if that is a good thing that he is doing that already. I would prefer he ease his way up to that kind of velocity. I hope he isn't pushing too much. When it comes to Francisco Liriano, caution is smart! And yet, when you consider that he hasn't pitched in a game since August of 2006, he has had time. He should be reporting to camp today after visa issues due to his DUI last spring.
Today, the Twins will take on Concordia-St. Paul in an exhibition game in which Twins pitchers will throw to Twins hitters. A couple of days ago, Phil Miller gave us the lineup that the Twins would go with against them. I have a feeling that isn't the lineup we'll see on Opening Night.
Howard Sinker posted from Section 220 about the saga of still-free agent Kyle Lohse.
I am happy to see that this site was named to the Brock for Broglio 101 Best Progressive Baseball Blogs and Resources. Thanks!
I think I found a job that I am incredibly qualified for... but it would likely require relocation to south Florida...
An article from the Chicago Tribune called Torii Hunter Out Front with his Opinions. Shocking!
Carlos Silva was named the Mariners #3 pitcher, behind Erik Bedard and Felix Hernandez and ahead of Jarrod Washburn and Miguel Batista.
Look Out! Johan Santana Hits Carlos Beltran!
Travis projects the Twins Opening Day roster. I commented my two questions/concerns about it, and it may be surprising to some of you which things I didn't disagree with him about.
How would you Project Delmon Young... or Project Joe Mauer?
Looking for a new best friend? Here you go!
Twins Geek wrote a really good article showing the changes in the Twins lineup and where they might be better, or worse (if you want to think like that!).
Any thoughts, links, opinions or others?
