Condolences to Delmon
Bonnie Young, the mother of
the Twins’ Delmon
and the Nationals’ Dmitri, passed away
today. She had been battling cancer for some time. Delmon
left the Twins last Friday and was expected to be back on Friday. With funeral
plans pending, I would hope that the Twins and Major League Baseball would be
decent enough to give him a few more days. Life keeps finding ways to remind us
all about how meaningless baseball is in the big scheme of things. It kind of
puts the whole four game series in New York into proper perspective. I
certainly send my best to Delmon and the rest of the
Young family. Come back when you’re ready.
